| darlinpa's Full Review: RCA DS2232ND Dual LNB DIRECTV System |
Almost 2 years ago is when I switched from cable to satellite television. The reason I changed was because every time I turned around the cable company was raising the rates. I got tired of it and started to shop around.
I found my best deal on the internet. When I got my dish I found that it was very, very easy to hook up. We were "online" within 1 hour.
At first I could receive local stations on my dish. However, that was taken away (but later offered by a few of the stations). The way around it is to use an antenna which gives ok reception.....it gets me by and doesn't cost a monthly fee.
The satellite package for basic is fairly inexpensive ($9.99) which I have never seen raised the whole time I have had service. The "extra" channels include, sports, movie channels (i.e. HBO, Showtime, etc.) and these packages range from $19.99 to $49.99 a month.
You use to buy the basic stations from USSB and the movie channels from DirectTV but now DirectTV has bought out USSB. I'm wondering if this will become like the cable companies some day where the rates are increased several times a year. So far I am very happy.
