I received this unit as a replacement for the 3DE-7887 unit and i must say Alpine outdid themselves here. This unit has everything to offer but the vehicle to put it in. It has dual pre-amp outputs with a subwoofer output, shuttle control, subwoofer level control, amber or green back lighting, wireless remote control, black out(higher power output for competition), detachable face, 4 volt pre-output, disc and station naming, and many more features. Its sound is very clean, and is impeccable. I haven't had any problems with this unit and is as good as any out there for the price. The head unit is what separates the good systems from the great systems, and this one would be a great one to use to start your system. The learning of the features could be a problem for some people, as it took me a while to learn it, but it was well worth it. Its price tag may be too high for some(retails for $480).
