| wyomingwapati's Full Review: Sony CDX-606 Car CD Changer |
I bought my Sony CDX-606 off ebay for $180. It was a new unit. I installed it in my 98 Ford Taurus (trunk mount). Was a snap to install since the tuner is located in the trunk.
I purchased an interface from Soundgate Corporation so the changer would be compatible with my Ford Factory Head unit. Was very easy to install the interface also. I found the changer works great if the outside temperature does not exceed about 90 degrees. When it gets hot, the changer only works part of the time.
I get strange readings on from the head unit (dash display), and have difficulty changing cd's and tracks. Through research I was told that the problem lies within the Sony Changer itself and not the interface I bought. Luckily I live in a cooler climate so it very rarely gets hot, so the heat issue isnt a problem most of the time. I have never had a problem with the 606 skipping though.
For the price I got the unit for I cant really complain too much.
