Fwoom. Oh my gosh! Was that bass? From a pair of headphones? These RCA 900MHz headphones are something every music lover should own. I can't always play my stereo at full blast, (it bugs people) so when I can't, I use these headphones. The sound is excellent. Its as good as any pair of headphones I've ever owned. Plus, they're wireless. I have the transmitter (which looks really cool) hooked up to my reciever. It comes with all the cords and converter cables necessary to hook it up to just about anything. It automatically detects when music is playing, and switches on. Its very good at detection, too. It doesn't turn off during quiet parts.
Now, about the wireless part. I've found the range of these things to be excellent. With the transmitter in my basement, I can walk throughout my entire house, and still hear loud and clear, with absolutely no interference. During the winter, I wore them outside while I shoveled my driveway, and I got almost no interference there. (they make really good earmuffs, too) I decided to test the range by putting the transmitter in my room (on the second floor) and walking down my street. 3 houses down the street the music started to get fuzzy. By 5 houses it was pretty staticy. Then I turned the corner, and with another house in the way the sound disappeared altogether. Overall, though, the range exceeds any in-house requirements.
Now, about the earmuff part: The headphones themselves are really comfortable, with hinges on the speaker part so that they fit to your head really well.
They run on two AA batteries. They can be set on the transmitter to recharge (they come with two rechargable batteries) or you can just use normal batteries. The ability to use normal batteries is a bigger deal than you may think. A lot of other wireless headphones only come with a built in battery pack, so if your batteries die halfway through a cd, you have to wait 3 hours for it to charge :(, not so with these:)
The rechargable batteries last a decent amount of time, probably 6-8 hours. Normal batteries seem like they last forever. I replace them about once a month. (of heavy use)
So in summary, you can't go wrong with these headphones. At about $90, they're midrange in the price spectrum, but they far exceed the norm in quality.
