Sony DVP-7000 is a decent player

Jan 30 '00

This is for the Sony DVD Player Model DVP-S7000. I got this unit when it first came out and it has been a fairly decent player for me. I still wonder if its worth the $1100 I paid for it when it first came out. It was the best player at the time, but now I think that you can get more for your money.

Sony has a new one out, for example, that is about the same price and holds about 200 DVDs. Now why would I want to spend the same amount of money and get a single disc player? The Sony player that I have here is indeed a good unit, but I think I have a problem justifying the cost. To me, its not that much better.

I bought my parents a $250 dvd player from Costco and it played the movies just fine. The picture looked great, the sound was quality and it only cost $250. Before you go out and spend near $1000 on this Sony DVP-S7000 you should go out and really consider other cheaper players. I know if I buy another player it will probably be the one that holds 200 discs.
