Radio contact

Written: Jul 12 '00
Pros:Easy to use
Cons:Uses alot of batteries

I bought a pair of these for basically walkie talkies, They are much better than walkie talkies in my book. Since my first purchase I have purchased another set so I have 4 radios
I have used our radios when I go to the store, to keep tabs on the kids...find out how much milk is left and things like that the VOX feature allows transmission at the sound of your voice,a great feature to have because no buttons to push.
I give them to the kids when they bike to friends homes and out to play, They are so handy...But I think the best use is for amusement parks and places where someone could easily get separated from a group...We used them on our day at Disney and was able to keep contact at all times, allowing one of us to stand in line for a ride while the others roamed or saw sites, we found out where restrooms were and when everyone wanted to meet.
These radios are very useful for almost anything, from adjusting an antenna on the house, to short trips to the store..I highly recommend them for anyone who needs close contact. The set I have says they are good for 2 miles but 1 mile seems more reliable.
And if you buy rechargable batteries this lowers the overall cost and makes these radios a great deal.
