A deal I couldn't pass up!

We were getting pretty dismayed with our cable company, so started looking around at dish systems and found the JVC TU-3700DU at Sears while there was a special deal - sign up for a package (slightly less than $50/mo) for one year, and get a $199 rebate (which basically means, we paid the tax, and got the system and installation kit free!) Well, when I get the rebate check, that is...we bought the system in November so it should still be a couple more weeks at least until the cash arrives.
Other than missing certain major network programming, I just love this system! The manual made installation seem alot harder than it actually was, according to my husband. (If you're not mechanically inclined, there's usually a $99 installation special so you won't have to fool with that end of it yourself.) The night we bought it, he installed it and with a phone call, we were set. The picture is always great, and the few
times it's rained since the installation, the picture has never been affected in the least. (Of course, let hurricane season come, and where I live, we'll see...but that would be a whole new review when that happens!)
I am a big fan of the Game Show Network and Comedy Central, and my cable system has no plans to carry either channel, so that is one aspect of having a dish that makes it well worth it. We have an HBO package (every HBO variation) along with some Showtime channels, which is plenty for us. Since we no longer have access to public tv, the Dish Network carries
a channel called "Noggin" that is a combination between the Children's
Television Workshop and Nickelodeon. (It's cool to see things I remember watching when I was a kid!)
Overall, we are very pleased with the system and would recommend it
to anyone who enjoys tv as much as we do!
