| gadgetluvr's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in St Louis |
I have been a Sprint PCS customer for 3 months and have mostly good experiences using the service. I chose Sprint because for $50/500 minutes nationwide with LD, I thought it was the best price and I still do. I have found coverage in most areas on main highways and cities. It can be spotty in other areas, but I also chose the 50 minutes of roaming option for free for signing a 1 year contract. I have used less than 10 minutes each month on roaming. The best part for me is that I can easily check my used minutes either by cell phone or web access. This means I don't have to guess if I have 30 minutes or 300 minutes left in a month. I also have an AT&T phone which I use for local service and I cannot see how much I've used. The negatives to Sprint are more frequent dropped calls than AT&T, where I'll be driving along and suddenly the call will drop, with no loss of signal. I can immediately call back, so this is more of an annoyance than a major problem. My biggest complaint is with customer service. The web site is very slow most of the time (surprising given Sprint's web background), but phone customer service is the worst. After hearing "due to unusually high call volume, we are experiencing longer than normal wait times" EVERY single time I call, I have to wonder if "usual" is defined as "the way it was 10 years ago". I'm afraid in my book "unusually high call volume" really means "unusually low staff volume". I hope Sprint fixes it's web site and customer service, because I think they've got a killer combination if they do.
