You'll KNOW why you want a DVD once you check out the prices of the latest VHS releases!

Apr 19 '00

I bought a fairly low-end DVD player around Christmas and am I ever glad I did! Just check out the prices of some of the best movies released recently on VHS and DVD and you'll see what I mean!
Amazon.com and CDNow both list The Sixth Sense and The Bone Collector at around $110.00 for VHS....I got them on DVD for less than $20.00 including shipping and handling!
The bonus tracks with scenes that were cut from the movies, interviews with the directors make the DVD even more attractive! Some movies, like Matrix, have special effects you can only see with a DVD player - wait till you see what you're missing.
NO MORE REWINDING OR FASTFORWARDING!! Just look at the directory and replay your favorite parts....or in the case of Titanic, skip through the really boring parts!
Animated movies, like Tarzan are crystal clear - you've never seen a movie look like this before. The word "amazing" takes on a new meaning.
When you decide to make the move to a DVD player there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Find a good salesperson who knows DVD players and make sure that the one you are looking for is compatible with your stereo receiver if sound is real important to you. Go through all the options and find the DVD player that does everything you want it to do. And don't throw away your VHS player - not all movies are offered on DVD. grrrrr George Lucas!
