I received this phone from my husband for a Christmas present in 1998. After I had it all hooked up with the cord going through our cabinets and charged it, it had no connection with the base, and wouldn't no matter what. So we took everything back to the store except for the cord and exchanged it. We charged it, and it worked.
It worked fine for the 1st year. Right after the warranty expired, the battery started dying after only a short time of being off the hook. It died again two days ago, so I charged it overnight. I tried it the next day, and it is completely dead. When I push "Talk" there is no nothing then it will beep and say "Out of Range", so I held it right up next to the base, and it still says "Out of Range".
I've tried all of the troubleshooting advice in the manual, but none of them explain how to fix this problem. Since the warranty is up, I guess we are out of the $100+ we spent on it.
I did love the built-in caller ID and message light feature, plus the way I can turn the handset backwards so I can see it when it rings. Those were just about the best things I can say about it. Now, only if it worked.......
