JVC GR-AX900 there is no substitute!!

I purchased my first camcorder, a JVC GR-AX900 from Circuit City a few years ago for about $700.00. I have come to love this little camcorder as it does everything!
Some of the features of this camcorder include a button for digital image stabilization . This is to help hold the camera steady, great if you have shaky hands or if you go on a cruise like I did where the boat rocks while your trying to film the shoreline, the stabilizer allows a smooth shot. Another great feature is the 120x digital hyper zoom. This thing can zoom in on an ant!! One time I think I saw a spaceship on the moon! Just kidding.. but this has got one powerful zoom on it, and the picture is clear.
There is also a knob that you can turn to set the camera to take shots no matter what the event or setting. For example, there is a setting for high speed filming, such as a sporting event or auto race. Another setting is for low light situations, such as candles being the only light, for a birthday party or romantic evening. A third setting for twilight recording and another for black and white filming. The funnest two settings I think are the classic film setting that lets you record like an old time movie, and the strobe setting. These are great for special effects and for parties.
Other unique features of this handy model include buttons that lets you add dates and titles to your video. You can add "Our Vacation" or "Our Wedding" or many other captions to your pictures. Also there is a button on the top of the camera that allows you to take snap shots while recording. I found this a great tool when I was at the zoo. The freeze frame of the polar bear yawning is priceless. Also the fader control lets you fade out of scenes, much like you see at the movies.
One of the best features of the JVC GR-AX900 is its ability to let you see what you've recorded immediately. Just move a knob to the play position, rewind the tape, and you can look through the viewfinder and see you video in full color. This is great if you want to edit a scene. If you want to be part of a video, this camera also comes with a remote control. Just mount it on a tripod, get in the scene, and use the handy dandy remote to record, zoom, take a snap shot, whatever!
This camcorder is very compact and lightweight. It contains a built in microphone, a light on the front, shoulder strap, and built in lens cover. It takes small nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries, I use BN-V12U by JVC because they are small and light. I read where you can even use an AC adapter, to use AC power for the camera, and with the exclusive car battery cord, you can run this camcorder off a car battery. Though I have never tried this. This model also uses small VHS-C tapes that go into a cassette adapter to be played on a VHS VCR.
What can I say? This camcorder has it all. I was dismayed one day when I accidently dropped it... thinking I'll never find one with this many features. That's where the last feature comes in... durability. I cracked the plastic on part of my camcorder...but everything still works fine!! Wowwweeee what a machine!!! I'm working on it to do windows next!!
