| raz00's Full Review: Nokia 3210 GSM Cellular Phone |
i have had the pleasure of going through several mobiles- Alcatel, ericsson, siemens and i must say once you have tried a nokia product you just cant use another brand its no wonder they are the no. 1 in this field.the reason i picked up the nokia 3210 was to find a phone that had better reception quality that the ericsson i was using at that time-at one time the networks was so bad that no calls or messages could get through but my friends'nokias and alcatel could just somehow squeek through.with the budget at hand the nokia 3210 was the best choice.and i must say it has been a pleasant surprise with this phone so much useful features especially in the messaging part.the delivery reports is a very useful and nice touch.pic messaging is added bonus if supported by your networks but the funny thing is when i try to send pic msg by the 3210 it says msg sending failed whereas my friend, using the same network can send pic msgs through his 3310 and deliver it to me.the 3310 is the descendent of the 3210.personally i think the 3310 is too teenagerish -the 3210 looks more sleek and professional.the ability to send phone no.s via sms (the business card function),reply sms on all calls that are in the call register, fetching phone no.s on all sms functions, recalling phone book even during a call are all the toughtful features evident in this phone as in all nokias-what this phone scores over its similiarly priced brethen are the loads of useful features you get.plus the t9 text input in sms on the nokia is really easy to use-more user friendly than on the siemen c35i.you can switch back and forth really rapidly between using t9 and traditional text just by pressing the arrow key on the bottom right hand side.reception wise i have heard many stories of this phone being a poor performer in this regard not helped by the fact that this is among the first nokias to feature an internal antenna.well my only gripe regarding internal antennas are that they tend to make mobile phones look like something else example looking like a calculator or a trick tv remote device.maybe i am traditional but mobile phones DO look better with antennas outside- it gives an impression of a communication device that means business.in my experience of using the nokia 3210 i have no complaint about the reception it certainly performed better that the ericsson it replaced and on some instances it registered more bars than the 5110.only my old alcatel easy db performed better in reception-alcatels are very reliable in this regard.finishing of the phone is nothing much to shout about probably due to the design entailing changable covers the plasticky feeling is always there.the plus side is of course if you scratch or break the cover or feel like having a new phone but dont have the moolah it is always easy to get new covers.durability wise the phone is really tough have dropped it several times.
