Sprint PCS--The Good, the Bad
Written: Mar 14 '00
Pros:Good Rate Plans
Cons:No Customer Service
When I first switched to Sprint PCS, I was very pleased with the service and the simplified pricing plan. Now, I am finding reasons to be less pleased with the quality of service and customer service.
Now I am finding that many calls cannot get through to my number--they get
a rapid busy signal. After numerous calls to Sprint PCS "customer service", I believe that the cause is too many phones and not enough capacity in my area. (one customer service agent admitted to me that her screen indicated all of Texas was a service problem. I have questioned others about her comment but only get silence!)
Sprint PCS is quick to assign a "case number" to your problem but it is very difficult to find out if their investigation has turned up any cause to the problem. I can only find that the "case is still open".
On the last call to customer service, I spent more than 15 minutes trying to reach a real person and another 30 minutes being helped (?) by a very polite person who obviously lacked much knowledge of the system or product. Visits to the local office have ended with the same result.
I believe that Sprint PCS is selling the product much faster than they are expanding their service capacity. I would avoid Sprint PCS until they can catch up with demand. A cellular phone is not very useful if you cannot receive calls!!
