Alpine is one of the best indash units you can buy. It doesn't have any of those flashy features like a dancing EQ or scrolling titles and such, but it gets the job done beautifully. Remember that less is more. When other companies are trying to make their units stand out by adding all sorts of eyecatching features, Alpine has dug down to upgrade features and add new ones based on the quality of sound and usability. All of use use Alpine in our cars and some have even won trophies in car audio competition. Alpine comes with more features than what the simple unit looks like. All the features that people normally used are 1 touch away like source control, volume, bass/treble adjustments, etc. All the other features are hidden under a 2 button push sequence. This keeps their decks simple looking and easy to operate while driving but at the same time provide control of every feature of the car. One of the most impressive thing I have seen is the AI-NET that the higher end model Alpines come with. It's their internal bus system that allows the multiple Alpine products to talk to each other so in the even of new addons, there won't be a need of additional control units. Like all other decks, installation is simply a faceplace and a wire harness away.
This unfortunately comes with a slighly higher price tag than most decks but it is a small price to pay. So far, none of our decks have problems including the ones bought way back in 1991.
