GR-AMX700U - I Like It

We have owned this camera for over a year now and are very pleased with the way it handles. I haven't tried every feature yet because we have never bought the hardware for movie transfer for our computer but digital still the capture software that came with it works fine. I have found myself never taking regular pictures with our camera anymore. I now take the JVC and take the pictures. I get home and download the pictures, edit any flaws then print them out on glossy photo paper. I store all my pictures on CDs now and print copies whenever I need them. I use a different picture edit software than what came with it now but learned allot on the MGI Photo Suite SE software that came with it.
I knew nothing about taking, downloading, or editing pictures until we got this camera and I learned it fast. The program is very easy to use and the directions were all right there. My hands are small but the buttons are still easy for me to reach and my husband with his big hands still can also use it without difficulties. It does get a little heavy sometimes though. It was made small but it does weigh a little. I'm not sure the actual weight but I know it's not over 3 pounds, so it is light. It is just little arms get tired even holding that up after 20 minutes or so. So the person usually behind the camera is my husband when we are video taping and I'm the one who uses the digital still camera feature. I love e-mailing them to my friends.
It also come stock with a video adapter so you can play your tapes in your VCR. I keep mine in the camera bag so no matter where we are we can play our tapes on any VCR. It comes with only a small hour battery so I did have to purchase an additional 2 hour battery. I bough an after market universal brand and have had no problems with it. Between the two batteries we have never run out yet. But if you live where you need to use the onboard light then you will want to run off the ac adapter instead of battery. The light sucks your battery dry very fast. If you use the light I have found that it cuts battery usage time in half. So use the light wisely.
Some of the features are Super Lolux that helps internally make the picture brighter, special occasion titles, Wide angle shot, Auto Mode Lock, Auto Mode Release, Electronic Fog Filter, ND Effect, Sepia, Twilight, Sports, Nega/Posi Exposure and 1/2000 sec High Speed Shutter. It also has Picture stabilizer, 44x digital Hyper Zoom & a 3" LCD Color Monitor.
All in all this camera has been a great addition to our electronic family and my best friend is out buying one just like mine right now. And I recommend you do the same. But if you can afford to spend just a little more the newer version of this camcorder is out there and I would suggest getting that one instead.
