Now that's clear phone reception!

Dec 19 '99

When the first of the 900MHZ phones starting appearing a few years ago, I felt I had to have one of them. I did some in store comparisons and arrived at the Panasonic TC910-B model. It was expensive then, but with any new technology, prices will drop as they become mainstream. Now the 2.4 Gigabyte phones are the hot item. But I’m still happy with my Panasonic cordless phone.

The range is great, I can go anywhere in my yard and even over to the neighbors. Except for walking behind a fireplace wall, their is very little static on the line. I’m sure if I bought the 2.4 Gigabyte model, I could walk half way down my street. (but who really likes the neighbors that much).

The phone’s battery life away from the base unit is about 2 days. Occasionally the phone will get lost under the couch and will start beeping to remind you to put it back in the base unit.

Feature: This 3-channel phone has 10 person memory dial, speaker phone on the base and a phone locator, (which is convenient when the phone is under the couch). The phone is also attractive and easy to hold. It doesn’t have caller ID, but today’s models do. The base unit also has a keypad to dial (if you can’t find you phone) You can also use the 2-way intercom to talk between locations. The handset’s buttons even light up in the dark to allow you to easily dial at night.

While you would expect all 900MHZ phones to be equal, my parents have an ATT model which doesn’t seem to have the same clarity. (I guess you get what you pay for)

Conclusion: This has been a solid, reliable 900 MHZ cordless phone. (buy it)
