Speaker Installation For Dummies
Oct 24 '00
Hello, and welcome to my epinion. This time I am talking about car audio..speakers in general. Speakers in an audio system are like the brains of a human, you can't live without them. I personally hate factory sound systems because of the poor quality of sound that comes from the speakers. Sure the sound is great when you first buy the car, but what about a few months or a year after? Well I in fact would decide to install a brand new system as soon as I could get my hands on the money to do so. Whether it is a booming system, or just something you can listen to when you're going to work or stuck in traffic, it's probably the best thing to do.
Now here is the lowdown on speakers. The more watts, the more power. Simple as that. Choosing the right speaker for your car is a hard job to do. Some places such as Crutchfield have a chart which will show you ALL the speakers that will fit your model of car. I like to stick with name brand and well known groups like Rockford Fosgate, Kenwood, Jensen, Pioneer, U.S. Acoustics..and so on. These guys have been making speakers the best ever for a long time. If you are looking for subwoofers with power and in a good price range I would consider checking up on Kenwood, they have reasonable prices for the amount of power and punch their speakers put out.
Whatever you do, make sure you shop around before you purchase a new set of midrange speakers and/or subwoofers. Some of these things look like they can handle the most power but in fact they are easily out matched.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST! The thicker the wires running to your speakers the better quality of sound you will get!!!!!! REMEMBER THAT ALWAYS!!!
