I signed up for a mobile phone with AT&T about 4 months ago. My friend had recommended the service to me stating that it was one of the better services. I signed up and got a Nokia 5100 series phone with the package. For the first month the service seemed flawless. I did not use the phone that much at first, basically only for emergency purposes. However i began to use the phone more and more frequently because i realized that i was wasting airtime on a monthly basis. As I used the phone more and more i realized how much harder it became to place a phone call. My voice mail box was often flooded with messages due to the fact that my friends and family could not get through to me. I could be sitting in the middle of an open field with a full signal and not get a phone call.
I called AT&T about my problems with my mobile phone. They apologized for the inconvenience stating that they were upgrading their systems and some calls might not go through at first. The whole situation was very frustrating. I was paying almost 50 dollars a month for a phone that was practically useless. I had to invest in a pager because I needed a guaranteed way of people contacting me. I could not rely on the phone any longer. I was more than happy to cancel the plan and pay the termination fee. The 250 dollars i spent on the termination fee was basically the same concept of keeping the phone and paying 50 bucks a month when it barely worked. You are better off buying a pager and carrying a roll or quarters everywhere you go.
