| flg25's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in New York |
Having a cell phone in NY can be a frustrating experience, dropped calls, no service areas, and poor signals. But I have never had so much grief with a cell phone until I met SPRINT PCS. I chose this service because it offered the most minutes for the least amount of money. $30 for 200 peak 800 off peak. My goal here is to warn others of this ruthless beast of a company called Sprint. They do not care about you. They just want your money. That's the bottom line. Customer service representatives are ignorant and their best line is: "I apologize for the inconvenience" That must be the first thing they teach at Sprint PCS 101.
Okay, for starters, almost every day that I use the phone, one or two of those calls will drop in the middle of the call. You are able to get credit for those dropped calls but the process is complicated and long. Dropped calls are so common that you loose track. When friends and family try to call me, they often get error messages stating that the network is busy and to try back later. This usually happens from about 5PM to 7PM. Same goes for trying to check your voice mail. And remember FREE AND CLEAR? Well there is nothing free or CLEAR about Sprint. In Sprint's dictionary Clear must state: DISTORTED. That is how most phone call sound. If you go over your minutes the tax rate on your phone bills doubles. I still don't understand how Sprint pull this one off. They always give me the famous line: "we can't control tax". To give everyone an idea, I believe it works something like how your salary is taxed. Every time you make more and go to a different tax bracket they charge you more taxes. Sprint manages to do that even if you go over one minute. And lastly but not least Customer service. Most of these people cannot even speak correctly! They insult you and they often try to make you feel stupid. They will never ever admit there is a problem and the most they will do is give you some courtesy minutes. I wish that I had positive things to say about sprint. And I realize that in the five boroughs the phone signals are stronger. But in Westchester County where I live the signal is often poor. And I believe that service should be equal everywhere.
The consequences: You will ultimately get robbed for bad service. Avoid this company at all costs. Even if everything was free it is not worth the frustration of not being able to make phone calls at certain times or to be on the phone and the call just drop about fifty million times. My Last bill I went over 35 minutes. So instead of being the regular $66 (I have two phones}it is $92. Half of that increase is tax. Please everyone do not get Sprint.
