| mikedogg195's Full Review: RCA DRD515RB DIRECTV System |
Direct TV allows the customer to choose from a wide range of packages and for very low monthly fees. Direct TV is great for a household of all kinds of ages.
The programming gallery is huge, with over 210 channels to choose from. And best of all, when you sign up today, you get two months free of ALL direct tv channels. Now that's a deal. I just recently purchased Direct TV and am very impressed. I still can't recognize correct channel numbers even after 3 months. That just shows you how many channels there are. I am settled on this though...there will always be something good on tv now.
The range of channels to choose from includes sports channels such as ESPN, ESPN II, all FOX Sport Net Channels from over 30 cities in the country, ESPN Classic, and so on. Lets not forget about the movie channels. With five HBOs, 4 Starz, 5 Showtimes, 2 HBO Family Channels (for the kids), 8 Encore, 2 TMC, and 3 Cinemax movie channels. There are also a few independent movie film channels too. You like music channels or do your kids? Well, with Direct Tv, you get 37, yes, you got that right, 37 music channels free in your first 2 months. This includes all of the MTV channels and VH1 channels. Got someone in the house from a few generations back? Don't worry, something for them will always be on too with classic TV shows always on channels like TVLAND and the GAME SHOW NETWORK. Want to see the big fights and main events on Pay-Per-View? That's no problem either. With a few convenient clicks on your remote, you won't have to budge out of your comfortable living room couch to see this type of action. Lets not forget about all of the "regulars" that include Nick, Discovery Channel, the Weather Channel, CNN, FX, TBS, and about 40 others.
Now the costs. I must admit, getting started can be a little expensive. You need to purchase the dish and have it installed outside of your house. This can be done by yourself or someone hired. Buying the satellite receiving box is also required (this is the "cable box" in front of your tv). After your first 2 months of FREE direct tv, i decision must be made on what channels in which you'd like to keep. Packages range from $19.95 - $80.99 a month. The cheaper packages do not include all of the movie channels and sport channels, but i guess you can learn to live without them because even the cheapest package still has over 40 channels. I'm sure there's something for you on over 40 channels to choose from.
I bought this product because i live in a house with 4 other people. We all have the need for quality programming on TV. We are all very impressed in the way that Direct TV is conducted and it's convenience. No need for a guide to direct you when you can just make a few clicks on your oversized (don't worry, you'll fall in love with it) remote control can lead the way. People told me that the picture quality was good, but i didn't realize how good until i actually got it. The picture is nearly perfect, and this may even be an understatement. I was at a friend's the other day and was watching his TV. There really was a considerable difference between his picture quality and mine.
Still not convinced? Lets just review one more time for you... 2 months free of every channel imaginable, maintainable costs for just about any lifestyle, and great picture quality. If you like watching television, i can't see what more you can possibly ask for.
