This Mobile ES unit is both a pleasure to listen to and use. I have the unit installed in a Ford Probe along with a CD changer and woofer. The preamp outputs in the back made it a snap to install everything myself and allowed room to add more in the future. The unit’s output is sufficient to drive all four speakers, and then I have a separate amp just for my woofer.
Pro’s
1. Ample power.
2. Easy to use volume and track controls. No need to look at unit while driving.
3. Remote wand makes for even easier use. I just always have my hand resting on it and am ready to adjust the sound. The wand allows you to do almost everything that you do on the faceplate.
4. Large easy to read display. You can adjust the contrast to fit your conditions.
5. 10 preset buttons. This is one feature many other units do not have. This feature is useful for two things, adding many radio presets and being able to easily access all 10 of my discs on my disc changer with the press of a button.
6. Separate menu item to adjust sub output.
7. Change color of faceplate lighting. I liked this feature, I was able to match the same green lighting that is already in my car.
8. Program names of radio stations.
9. Most importantly, it sounds amazing, of course this will depend on your speakers. NOTE: Invest in good speakers, never rely on your cars factory speakers.
Cons
1. Faceplate is hard to put on once off.
2. Wand is hard to install.
Overall I am very pleased with my Sony. It has all the features you could ask for and more. More expensive units add nothing. I see myself using this unit for years to come.
