| kdclaw3's Full Review: Reference Studio/40 Speaker (Gold) |
If you are in the market for a bookshelf speaker the Paradigm Studio 40 is the best speaker you can possibly buy. I wouldn't suggest putting them on stands instead, just splurge the extra, I think 300-400 dollars and get the Studio 60. I bought them from a small hi-fi Stereo Shop in Duluth, GA. At first I thought the guy was trying to scam me I had never heard of Paradigm before. Before buying I went back and listened to Boston Acoustics, Definitive, Klipsch, BnK, Monitor Audio, but I couldn't find anything that had the imaging and clear mid response as the Studio40's. I listened to the 40's on everything I owned before I got them home the best was a Dave Matthews CD he used for demo, sitting down in the chair I could almost see Dave and Tim Renolds playing right in front of me. I decided to splurge the extra money and bi-wire them giving them even more of a warm sound and crisp his. These are THE BEST speakers money can buy.
