Pros: sound, value, remote

| Huttman78's Full Review: Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 Mini System |
I love the Model 88 Radio. It has such good sound for the price. It has really deep, adjustable bass and great sound separation. It doesn't sound like a table top radio, but 2 large speakers.
I love the small (tiny) remote that comes with it. It works a lot better than the buttons on the radio itself, which are clumsy. The radio comes with just the remote. One can purchase a dual alarm clock box that also provides extra remote distance capability for $49.99 regular price, $29.99 on sale.
I have a portable cd player hooked up to it, which is kind of an inconvenience, but the sound is amazing. This cost $150 less than the Bose Wave radio and sounds a lot better. Cambridge Soundworks has not gotten their marketing down yet, but all their speakers are great values. Don't forget to get audio cables to hook up a cd or tape player, they are not included.
As for radio listening, you can add an fm antenna, but no am antenna (you can purchase a wireless antenna indstead). There are also 3 settings on the radio mono, stereo, and wide. It looks cool, but I can here little difference between wide and stereo. Lastly, this radio comes with an auxilary input for even more hookups.
They now have a Model 88 Cd that comes with a bulit in cd player with alarm and clock for around $349.99. Look for the original Model 88 for $149.99.
