Sony STR-DB830

Mar 13 '00

Great receiver, it's between the ES and the DE models. Got it at Goody
Guys during their no sales tax promo. The receiver is great, beats the
Harman Kardon receiver I had, which I returned because it sounded terrible. The Sony makes things much nicer, the DSP features makes it
even better. The cinema, hall, live house, etc DSPs all sound great.
It's 5x100 watts, enough to rock your apartment or home :-)
Its got 30 tuner presets, 5.1, 3 video inputs, tv/sat, dvd, and other
component inputs. It's got banana plugs or rca inputs from your speaker.
Got mine connected to two tall Sony's, Energy rears and a center and it
makes Dolby Digital or DTS tracks sound awesome.

The remote can controls my catv, vcr, dvd, but not my Mitsubishi tv. If
you have a Sony tv, it can control your PIP.

The receiver has a panel that opens down with the touch of a button. You
can preset your tuner and edit the name. I have some favorite stations
with their call signs.

There's nothing I would want to change on this unit.
