| DJC750's Full Review: Aiwa XM-M33 Bookshelf Audio System |
This stereo system is another quality product put out by Aiwa. The surprising thing, however, is its level of quality, as compared to its bargain basement price. The combination of simple set-up and easy to understand interface allows for you to master this system almost as quickly as it takes to get out of the box. It's chrome and wood design creates a sleek, sophisticated look. At the same time, it does not look cluttered, like many new stereo systems.
The speakers are both durable and able to both blast the music at you with incredible volume and bass, as well as play lighter subtler music, without losing the little details. You can also personalize how music is played out of the speakers, allowing you to improve the sound quality in any one of several pre-programmed ways. Unfortunately, the speaker wires do come loose relatively easily. This causes a drop in both sound quality and volume, causing you to have to get up and re-adjust the wires once in a while.
The CD and tape player are both very good, and have stood the test of time and bashing that I constantly inflict upon them. The radio is very good, with a long wires that can be wound wherever you want it to be, including on a provided spool. This length and flexibility allows you to get the best reception in your area. The programmable station feature, which allows you to switch to several dozen-radio stations with the push of one or two buttons on your remote. The remote allows you to do whatever you want on your stereo from the other side of the room, from switching between CD, tape, radio and external source, to increasing the volume, to changing the bass and treble balance.
Overall, this is an excellent stereo system for those with a limited budget. It's combination of quality, features and price makes it another great product attributable to the Aiwa name.
