| jrbaytown's Full Review: Houston Cellular Mobile Phone Service in Houston |
I first decided to go with Houston Cellular because they advertised well and attracted me to the service.
I actually joined Houston Cellular in March 2000 and things just went DOWNHILL. I could NEVER make a call when I needed. My phone would drop calls, friends couldn't hear me talking, and most of the time I couldn't even make a call. This would be all over the Houston area, from Baytown (where I live) to The Galleria and up at IAH Airport.
At first I thought it was my Nokia phone. I brought my phone into the service store, which was not convienent for me, but I had no choice. He supposedly fixed my phone however as soon as I left the phone was causing trouble. I called Houston Cellular and demanded a break in my contract without paying a $125 early cancellation fee. My ground for this was that they were not providing the service they promised when I signed the contract. The guy named Reggie at Houston Cellular was VERY rude, refused to let me speak to a manager, and I told him I was getting very upset and he told me "It's your blood pressure going up, not mine". This made me MORE determined, so after weeks of fighting I finnaly got what I wanted. I cancelled my service with no charge and am currently with Sprint PCS.
So far Sprint has been GREAT! I have not had one dropped call or out of service problem since I've had the service in September. Be careful what service you choose and Houston Cellular is a DEFINITE NO!
