Looked like a good deal but the cheap price, in this case, means you really do get what you pay for...or less than that.
Don't expect a "quality" feel; this is not a Sony. Probably more like a $19 Memorex in a blister pack. Looks and feels cheap.
The product arrived with the battery compartment ribbon (used to pull the batteries out) threaded INSIDE the CD mechanism. I didn't see this so, using the included power adaptor, the CD would not spin. Once I found the ribbon and pulled it out of the mechanism, the CD did spin. Using Apple headphones, the sound with "genuine" audio CDs was marginal; somewhat worse than a $19 Memorex "walkman" clone.
However, "anti-skip" is non-functional with audio CDs; only works with ISO9660 (mp3) CDs. Very bad skipping when the unit is moved even slightly. Actually, I'm not sure that the anti-skip does work with mp3 CDs 'cuz I could never get the unit to recognize ISO9660 CDs even though I carefully followed the directions about storing the mp3 files inside a directory when I burned the CD. The unit always indicated that there were no files. I tried three different burns but got the same result.
I returned the unit and, of course, am out the shipping charges (both ways). My advice: Wait until mp3 players have sufficient memory and can be connected either via FireWire or using large (and cheap) CF or SM cards. This MPTrip is a "bad trip".
