Can you do that?

Feb 04 '00

Guess what I did last week? I watch 4 movies and did not get bored in the two days I was flying.

I had to go to Florida on a business trip. My neighbor had recently bought a new laptop computer with a DVD player. She has a home PC and works mainly from home. So I mustered up the audacity to ask if I could borrow here new laptop. was it so I could get that ever important presentation done or write my "Jerry Macguire Memo" no. I had one thought in mind. I could watch a movie during my layover and flight.

I gota tell you the trip seemed to take only minutes rather than the 6 hours up and back (after delays and travel time). I will ask you one simple question. Can you do that with a VCR? No. You can purchase a portable DVD player for about 700 bucks or you can but a laptop with DVD for about 1800 bucks, and do a lot more with the laptop. I also noticed in the airport that you could now rent DVD's to play on portables or laptops as long as you send them back. If you don't send them back you get charged about 7 times the cost of the DVD. But when was the last time you watched a movie on a plane without having someone's head in the way??

DVD good, long flight and VCR, BAD
