| ahiggins's Full Review: Sony CDX-52 Car CD Changer |
I purchased this unit used from eBay. It is a great unit, very easy to install and required very little of my time. It would be nice if it had a wireless remote...
I installed in my F150 extended cab, great place is right behind driver's seat in indention beside back seat, perfect snug place for this changer, no skips or anything on the CD's.
This is a fast changer, with much better times between discs than the rival Pioneer I have in my wife's car. Sony has always been good at mobile audio, this FM changer is well worth your money!
Don't hesitate to buy an FM modulated changer, the quality is there, the installation is quick and the prices are cheap.
See my other review for comments on the Pioneer changer.
[UPDATE]
I just purchased a new head unit for my truck, a Sony CDX-C5000X with CD/MD changer controls built in. The changer reviewed above plugged right into the back of my new head unit and is controllable from there, I no longer need or use the RF portion of this changer.
Sony thought ahead when they designed their changers and receivers - they kept the same design on connections so that events like this could happen.
You can upgrade your equipment and still use the equipment you have - what a refreshing change it was for me, I just plugged in the changer and off I went. Installation time was less than 10 minutes.
