| Isis493's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in Kansas City |
I have been bounced around from Ameritech to Southwestern Bell Cellular and Sprint PCS is the best cellular service I have had yet. With all of the recent company mergers and acquisitions, I found that Ameritech had horrible technical support - I had to leave my cell phone in an Ameritech store for 3 days so that they could figure out how to program it. Southwestern Bell has terrible rates and a VERY limited digital calling area. I bought my Samsung 3500, went with Sprint PCS, and have never regretted it.
I travel all over the country, both by air and by car. I make frequent car trips from the Kansas City area down I-70 to South Texas and enjoy clear digital service the whole way! When I go to Washington DC, Los Angeles, you name it! I have service even when others are roaming. Indeed, if you compare calling area maps among the different national providers as I have, you will see that Sprint has the largest digital service area coverage, especially in the metropolitan areas and along interstates. More coverage means less roaming.
As far as the customer service goes, I could not ask for better. I have read many epinions that reflect poorly upon Sprint. My experience has been this: I broke/shattered 2 phones in 6 months (all my fault - I dropped them and slammed them into the car door). Sprint not only replaced the phones for free, they even sent replacements to my house. So, I am now on my 3rd phone in 6 months at no extra cost to me! I do not know of a single other carrier that would accommodate clutzes like me the way Sprint has...
I find that I may need to upgrade my plan soon the the $49.99/month.
My only suggestion is this: if you ever need to call Sprint PCS at their 1-800 number, do it with your cell phone. If you use a hard phone, you will be on hold for 10-20 minutes. If you use your cell phone, you are "expressed" through to customer service with only a 30 second or so wait.
