Sharp CD-BA 1600 - Mine's Going Back to the Store
Dec 18 '00
. . . for a refund. Next time we'll buy a higher priced system. I'm just another single parent looking for a good deal on a nice gift for my teen and this unit was a big disappointment. This CD player with 3'disc CD changer and double cassette player looks good and has great speakers, but within a hour of setting up would not play. We are getting an "Err 302" message, the CD tray will not open or play. We set up on Sunday and customer service at 1-800-Be-Sharp was not open until Monday morning. I called them this Monday morning and they are very nice and knowledgeable. You have to go through a number of menu's but it is worth the trouble because the real people you do interact with are helpful. I found people aware of my problem and have been referred to a service center. I will be just getting back our CD which is stuck in the system and will return the unit. Apparently this problem is common from what I heard from the menu options and personnel at the service center. I frankly do not want a future of trips to the service center. I don't recommend Sharp sound system products to others. I wonder, if the company is aware of this problem, why don't they fix it, so more parents and teens aren't disappointed.
