I purchased my satellite dish 11/97. Then after i installed it 2 hours later. I called directv to activate my service, talk about being on hold forever 10 minutes. But in all my service was on in less than 5 minutes.
they have great programing packages. My first month came with all channels including the premium lineup. Pay per view is a nice feature, but I would still rent from the video store, same price more days. Picture and sound quality is great. Now for the worst part the customer service is really really bad! You are always on hold and when they do answer the phone there rep's do not know what they are doing. They cant help you, then they say have a problem with billing write to them and they never write back even after several attempts. Then they say e-mail it will be faster they do not respond to e-mail. And worst of all they wont give you any real answers except what is in there best interest. This is why I have closed my account after 2 years and 4 months. I will be receiving my services from DishNetwork soon, friendlier service rep's and you do not wait on hold forever with a message every 30 seconds. And there packages are as good as directv hero to zero packages.
