| MrProtocol's Full Review: Nikon D1X SET Digital Camera |
I purchased this camera to be a digital companion to my F-100. I find I don't use my F-100 anymore. The D1 does everything I want. Most digital cameras are lacking in both quality and durability, but not the D1. I suggest using the IBM 1Gig Microdrive (Compact Flash Card) with the D1. It stores 265 high resolution pictures. Of course you need the companion software "Nikon Capture" to go with the camera as well. It makes this unit a little on the pricey side, but it should be the last digital you will need for some time to come. The photo quality at higher ISO settings than 400 is grainy. I almost always use it at ISO 200 setting. I wish it supported the SB22s speedlight in TTL mode. I really like the fact that it uses a F5 body instead of the N60 body as the Fuji Film Fine Pix S1 does. This gives you more features than are available on any other digital camera.
