| foxspy's Full Review: Sony R-5900 |
My parents bought a complete home entertainment system, t.v, surround sound, satelite and all. The surround sound system that we picked out had a receiver, tape deck, and a 200 disc CD changer.
It took us a good day to hook everything up, but it was well worth it. The first thing I did was got my CD's and put them in the changer. Now, I have no where close to 200 CD's, but it's cool saying that you have a 200 disc CD changer. If I ever get 200 CD's, I will have to make a list so I won't forget where the CD's are in the changer.
The speakers that came with this system are great. It came with two 12" woofers, two tweater for surround sound, and one center speaker for surround sound. We did some careful planning on how we were going to put the speaker and we had to do some rearranging. Now, anywhere you sit in the room, you get the effect of being there because the sound is awsome. "Top Gun" is a great movie, but with surround sound, it is even better. "Independence Day" is a good movie, with surround sound, it is a great movie. Who says that sounds doesn't matter?
The remote control for the system is farley easy to use. It is easier just to walk up there and change the CD at the player. Everything else on the remote is easy and straight forward.
The receiver has six different sounds. I use dolby for movies and one of the other options for music, I only use two. The other ones just don't fit my taste. Some options bring out the lyrics more, some bring out the treble more. The one I like brings out the bass and lyrics. The bass is really good. The bass boost has a real good increase in bass, compared to some other stereos I've listened to.
The cabinet that the receiver, tape deck, and CD changer are in is a little cheesy. The door is hard to get popped open. I never use the tape deck because I don't own any tapes, but I have recorded tapes from CD's and the quality is great.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a great stereo system that makes you feel like you are in the movies, this is the one for you. If you want a stereo system that will play your music clear and loud, this is the system for you.
