I have found satellite tv to be a big improvement over regular broadcast and cable TV viewing. The picture quality is much better than analog. Also the channel selection can not be met by cable.
While the picture quality is very good I have noticed some problems in the last few months. I believe that DirecTv is reaching its channel capacity limit. The channels are not as clear as they once were and they sometimes seem slow to refresh.
Another thing I like about the system is that the system is seldom unusable. My experiences with cable have been that the cable system will go offline often. The only times I have lost signal with my dish is during very heavy rains or heavy snow. In West Virginia we get a signal strength of about 95 % all the time.
I think that everyone should buy this product. The price per package beats cable and there is more selection of stations. If you are a sports fan this is definitely the dish for you. twenty some sports channels plus the NFL, NHL, MLB, Espn College football and basket ball, MLS.
