Sony 30x digital zoom, Steady shot video HI8 camera, is great to use once you experiment with all the functions. The directions in the book are very easy to follow. The TRV82 seems to have more features than I have seen in some of the digital models, costing much more. The color viewfinder is a great plus, and the ability to view what you are shooting on the LCD preview screen is great for when you need to keep BOTH eyes on the surrounding action that you may want to aim at.
The camera is lightweight and "feels" good holding it.
It does come capable of having more lenses attached to it.
The sound quality is very nice considering the mic is built in.
The built in infrared allows you view your tape on TV. (Sony infrared receiver sold seperately)
The ability to do special effects with this camcorder makes the TRV82 a great addition to the arsonal of any video buff.
