Good deal, great picture

We brought our new Samsung home after a long and laborious search for a new television. Argh! So many choices and sizes, and so many price ranges. This Samsung worked well in the store -- would we like it when we got it home? This television would have to be durable, as it was the one to go in our family room. After much use, we have been very happy with our decision.
Our Samsung has a nice clean look, with the most of the controls on the remote control. The universal remote is easy to use; however, we found that it doesn't have much range -- you have to point the remote directly at the TV for it to work. It comes with the standard features that are included on most remotes -- mute, last channel viewed, volume and channel controls and sleep timer.
You have to use the remote to set the sharpness, tint, color, etc. You have the option of either having it set on custom -- you set each picture adjustment individually -- or you can choose a mode, such as sports, movies or mild, where everything is preset. We always use custom, as it's quite simple to set the picture quality to what we like.
This model has front and rear A/V jacks, so if you have more than one game console it is easy to plug/unplug. This model is cable ready, and the onscreen displays are available in English, Spanish and French.
Of course, all of the features mean nothing if the picture quality is bad, but with this television that isn't a problem. The picture came in better than I had expected, much better than at the store. It's clear and crisp, and the color is rich.
We are very pleased with our purchase -- a great television for a reasonable price. We'll be looking for a Samsung to replace the Goldstar in our bedroom, but that's another epinion...
