Pros: great quality prints Cons: slow uploading with standard serial port
This past summer the Chamber of Commerce sponsored a street festival in my town. Part of the displays and booths were downstairs near my apartment and, when I saw this, I borrowed this little Nikon from one of my neighbors to take some impromptu shots....

Pros: Great picture quality, easy to use, loads of options to play with. Cons: flimsy card door, battery door is tricky, compact flash card is not big in size.
I've had my new toy for about 6 months now and I'm so impressed.

Pros: Easy to use, price, pic quality Cons: It's not the best looking camera and its kinda flimsy
I recently had a chance to take pictures with this digital camera. My sister was in town and I haven't seen her for about 6 months. She is into picture taking and brought along with her the Nikon Coolpix 800. When she told me she paid hundreds for it,...

Pros: Outstanding image quality, ease of use in auto mode, extensive selectivity in manual mode, uncompressed TIFF mode, three useful compressed JPEG modes, wide shutter speed range, rapid recovery allows multiple shots in a short period of time, good ergonomics Cons: Skimpy standard accessories: 8 Mb CompactFlash, no rechargeable batteries and charger, no built-in USB capability, no hard copy manual, mediocre software bundle. Easy-to-lose unattached lens cap. Short battery life.
The Nikon Coolpix 800 includes many of the features found on the Coolpix 950 at a more affordable price. Two megapixel digital cameras are becoming more numerous. The Coolpix 800 stands apart from the crowd by providing superior image quality with a...

Pros: Great resolution, fantastic buy if discounted, $75 Nikon rebate through 04/01. Cons: 1999 technology, is nearing end of product life.
April 3, 2001 - The Nikon coolpix 800 was a great digital camera. I have had a very good experience owning one because it produces great pictures, but mostly because it was downright bargain when I purchased it. I made my purchase back in July 2000 at...

Pros: High quality, easy to use Cons: somewhat limited lighting
I have been a photo enthusiast since about the fourth grade when I saved up my pennies (literally) to buy my first snap-shot camera. I graduated to a 35mm by high school and have easily filled 20 photo albums in the last ten years with everything from...

Pros: High quality images Cons: Low battery life
WHY NIKON COOLPIX
I bought a second hand Coolpix 700 a couple of years ago based on many hours of browsing reviews. I had only one problem with the flash circuit but Nikon fixed it for me. I upgraded to the Coolpix 800 because my old...

Pros: Easy to take pictures, CompactFlash memory cards make it simple to move pics to PCs Cons: Insufficient resolution for 8x10 prints. Poor zoom quality beyond 2X.
My first foray into the world of digital photography is the Nikon Coolpix 800. I had a few requirements when choosing which model to purchase: I wanted something easy to use that delivered good photographic resolution. In addition, I needed to be able to...

Pros: Image Quality Cons: CHEAP components
Unfortunately, my overall impression of this camera is "CHEAP".
I did extensive online research before purchasing this model, and was attracted to the raves about image quality, as well as the price (>$900.00 up here in Canada)and the...

Pros: A true point and shoot camera. Great grip. Exposure modes & "Best Shot". Cons: Slow lens. Hard to retrieve memory card.
The Nikon Coolpix 800 does not have ultra high resolution, super fast performance nor does it raise the standard for new technological achievements. Quite the opposite; it is a “plain Jane” reliable working and well designed 2.1-megapixel digital...

Pros: Excellent quality photos, Intuitive user-interface and controls, great price! Cons: Can't think of any yet
I began looking for a lightweight camera that I could use on a vacation that had a good automatic mode for producing idiot-proof pictures. My criteria were:

Pros: Good ergonomics, excellent image quality, decent macro Cons: No pan capability when zoomed in review mode
Camera images are excellent, and it allows manual focusing, useful primarily in low light levels, when the automatic focus mechanism doesn't work as well due to the low contrast.
2X optical zoom works quietly and does the job. Digital zoom is...

Pros: optical zoom, lower cost, smaller size, execellent exposure, focus, and color Cons: The flash is very weak, underexposures under 7 feet
I was trying to decide between the Coolpix 950 and 700. I wanted the optical zoom lens of the 950, but I also wanted the lower cost and smaller size of the 700. So I was delighted when the Coolpix 800 was announced. It has the optical zoom I want (which...

I purchased my Coolpix 800 camera last September primarily for taking pictures for Ebay. I had read the reviews and decided that the Nikon was the best choice for my budget. I found a great deal, plus a 75.00 rebate. This is the perfect choice for...

I sell a lot of items on Ebay and I was tired of trying to scan everything with my flatbed scanner to use as pictures for my items. I knew it was time for a digital camera. I visited a few camera shops around town to ask advice and physically hold the...
