| With Beolab 8000, Bang & Olufsen succeeded in designing a loudspeaker with a larger, fuller sound picture with a cabinet volume of only 5 litres and a diameter of only 10 cm. Beolab 8000 features a tobular cabinet, manufactured from extruded aluminium. The manufacturing processes employed for Beolab 8000 are very complex due to the delicate surfaces and extraordinary design language. The aluminium is blank polished and anodized, while the front cloth is black. The tube tapers into the black stand, cast in iron, by means of a conical middle piece. The stand weights 10 kilos to balance the weight of the cabinet, amplifiers and cooling-units and secures that the speaker is very stable. |
