Pros: Great picture! Great audio. Nice programming and customization features. Cons: None.
DirecTV is an excellent television add on! I have never owned cable service, nor satellite tv service ... now I can't imagine life without it.

I bought it online (800.com) with their "free install" offer.

Pros: Great value and picture, easy setup, 32 bit processor Cons: Cheap remote, menus a little contrived
I have been putting off buying a satellite for awhile now. When I first moved into my new place I decided to start with cable just because it was easier and I thought it was cheaper. What a waste of a $40 install charge! Just a couple of weeks ago I...

Pros: Digital Quality Picture, less $ than cable for what you get Cons: Windy Days
I bought my RCA Direct TV Satellite System back in January and will not go back to cable unless I have to live on the North side of a mountain. Well that’s a restriction. You need an un-obstructed view of the sky over Mexico. I live in Florida so I...

Pros: Cheaper than cable, better selection Cons: To many ads from DirecTV, bad weather reception
I'm known for being cheap, or in another words frugal. I can make Lincoln squeal. After living in my house for 14 years, and not having cable ever hooked up, I bought a system on sale for $50 bucks.
Anxious to see how the thing worked, I...

Pros: Great picture, rearely goes down, affordable price Cons: gets hectic as the number of TVs go up
I specifically bought this model for my Dad as a Christmas present, and so far I have no complaints about the system. Before DirecTV, we were limited to just local channels via an antenna. The picture is extremely sharp and provides DVD quality picture....

Pros: great programming packages, cheaper than cable, can take it down and move it if you relocate to a new home. Cons: snow on dish and sunspots may sometimes cause momentary loss of picture, somewhat difficult to install
In case you aren't familiar with the satellite world, dtv stands for Direct TV, which is the company that handles the programming for the digital satellite for this product. We bought our dish about 4 years now, and just love it. We got sick of cable...

Pros: Excellent picture and sound, wide variety of programming available. Cons: Doesn't function in the rain, and can be expensive.
We used to watch a lot of T.V., even when there were only 2 channels to choose from. Now we've got over 100 channels and we don't watch as much.
When considering DirecTV, there are several things to consider:
Programming offered:...

Pros: Great video, cheaper compared to cable, easy installation, and great customer service. Cons: I cant think of any...Sorry
I just disconnected myself from cable that i was paying 25 a month for. The pathetic thing about the cable i was using was that 15% of the normal channels were missing like..."E", "cartoon network", and others like "the...

Pros: great quality, lots of channels, great service Cons: pricey, not always something to watch
Don't let my title to this opinion mislead you, I absolutely love this satelite system. My boyfriend purchased this system for his home about a month ago, and since then I just love watching tv at his house.
We installed the system...

Pros: Large variety of channels Cons: none that I know of
I had been a cable TV subscriber for over 15 years and was really getting very discouraged with their service and programming choices.
First of all, the Cable "goes out" at least 4 times a week and more than that in the spring with...

Pros: Plenty of channels to choose from. Easy to operate for even the most technologically challenged viewer. Excellent parental controls. Great buy for the money. Cons: The programming has some repetition on there premium channels
I purchased my DSS system in June 1999. I was a hard core local cable user. I had local digital cable that had a fair amount of channels, regular and premium. My Dad recommended that I call a local dealer because they were having a good sell. He...

Pros: great reception, lots of options Cons: need to be somewhat mechanically inclined to install
I believe we got a really great deal on our RCA direct t.v. dish and installation kit. It was 49.99 for the whole thing! The option was also to receive the entire movie package,($80), free for 2 months for signing up for the 29.99 package!
The...

Pros: more for your buck Cons: storm interference
We purchased our satellite system over a year ago and I truly love it. The reason we purchased one is because we were not getting very many channels with local cable and paying almost $50 a month. Our bill is higher now, $64 a month, but we get so many...

Pros: Easy installation, easy to use guide, superior picture and sound clarity. Cons: As with any satellite system, there is no access to local channels.
I called our local cable company to notify them of problems we were having with our cable reception. "Yes we'll fix it" they said. Then I asked "when?" There was a long silence on the other end. "There are a lot of people...
