Pros: Excellent sound, easy to setup Cons: Remote is a bit tricky
Summary: This is actually a review of Kenwood's HTB-553 home theater system. The only difference between the 503 and the 553 is the receiver. The 503 has the VR-407 receiver and the 553 has the VR-409 receiver. They have the exact same speakers.

Pros: Bargain Price, Real 100-Watt Powered Sub, Great Speakers for this Price Point Cons: You'll Eventually Want to Move Up to Higher-Quality Speakers
Summary: I would post this under the HTB-503 category, but there isn't one. Epinions hasn't updated product information (other than movie and music releases) for months. So, if you wanted to read a review of an old, out-of-date product you can't buy anymore (the ... read more

Cables that come with the system should be thrown out.
Summary: This is a review for the updated HTB-503 system.
I agree with the majority of the reviewers here and think that this is an awesome system. As everyone else will agree, the remote is neither convenient to use nor 'Universal'.
