Pros: Sounds as good as the best Cons: Only six FM presets
The designs of Henry Kloss have been part of my life for over a quarter-century. I'm still using KLH Model Thirty-Eight speakers, a slightly smaller version of Kloss' original two-way acoustic-suspension system, which I bought way back in 1974. The...

Pros: Price, Bose comparable sound Cons: Poor reception out of the box
I'm working in another city from where I live and I opted not to bring any of my audio equipment with me when I left. A friend had been pushing the Bose Wave Radio, so I went to a factory outlet store to check it out.
I thought that the sound...

Pros: Solid, Sounds Great, Looks Good Cons: Touchy Remote
I have to start this review by saying Cambridge SoundWorks is a rare example of what every consumer electronics company should be. The main concern here is building high quality great sounding products at an affordable price. You can tell these guys...

Pros: Attractive, good sound, good features, coax antenna input, subwoofer level control. Cons: None.
I installed the Model 88 on a high shelf in my master bath after a complete remodel. The only other competing choice was the Bose Wave Radio, but I didn't feel the higher price of the Bose was justified in comparison to the 88. I still have a pair of...

Pros: State of the art for table radios Cons: Minor tweaks in design are still possible.
Some of the discussion below may be too technical to be interesting. Sorry, but I thought a few basic points, even if only glossed over, might help provide some useful background. Don't buy hype by basically good application of good technology. That's...

Pros: Sound quality; construction; size; appearance. Cons: No external AM antenna; the incremental volume steps are too great.
Ok, I confess. I am a radioholic. I used to design commercial radios for a living. I am now a patent attorney who spends long hours in his office alone, pushing paper, with the radio playing in the background all day long. So I am not your typical...

Pros: Value, Sound, Remote, Available A/V connectors Cons: Front controls
I have the Bose Wave radio and just the the Model 88 for my in-laws. I wish I could trade with them. The sound is fantastic and for the price of $149 for the radio and $350 for the cd radio at HiFi.com it is half the price of the Bose. If you are reading...

Pros: Sound, size and ease-of-use Cons: CD version is too pricey
I purchased this radio for a bedroom. Its sound is terrific, it looks nice and the build quality is very high. It has significant heft, the soft-touch buttons work smoothly, and the little credit-card remote neatly duplicates the buttons from the front...

Pros: Fabulous sound! Cons: Clock is $50 extra?!?
Thinking about the Bose Wave Radio? Forget it. The Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 beats the Bose hands down in the sound test and costs only about half as much!
The sound that emanates from this shoebox-sized contraption must be heard to...

Pros: sound, value, remote Cons: flimsy buttons on unit and no clock
I love the Model 88 Radio. It has such good sound for the price. It has really deep, adjustable bass and great sound separation. It doesn't sound like a table top radio, but 2 large speakers.
I love the small (tiny) remote that comes with it....

Pros: GREAT sound. Cons: Expensive for a clock radio - audiophiles only!
I was initially looking for the BoseWave Radio/CD combo, but the price is never discounted, a tradition that goes against all electronics retailing philosophy. So, in search of audiophile sound quality but not wanting to spend well over $400, I came...

Pros: Small unit, Big Sound! Cons: A clock would be nice.
I have always enjoyed "Radio's". Even as a child, I have been fascinated with the radio. I own many and would probably be considered a collector.
I had received one of those promo. cards in the mail wanting me to purchase the Bose Wave Radio....

Pros: Absolute magic in a small box!! Cons: The Bose looks better, but who cares?
Since there isn't a spot for 88CD reviews, this seems like a good place since the CD model is almost identical sound-wise to the model 88.
I have read many reviews of the 88 and 88CD and though all are complimentary, most seem rather sterile...

Pros: Fantastic sound. Compact design.
Included dual alarm function. Sleep timer. Built in Sub-woofer. Cons: Am reception is poor, cannot add external am antenna. Remote is not very sensitive.
I received my Cambridge Soundworks Model 88CD via UPS and the first thing I noticed while I unpacked the unit was it's solid weight. It just felt as if I was holding something that was well made. After setting it up and reading the quick start...

Pros: Beautiful sound, portability, styling Cons: Remote can be flaky
I recently purchased a Model 88CD to be used in my living room. I considered purchasing a micro system from Sony or JVC, but decided on the Model 88 after evaluating each for sound quality and features. I consider myself to be very picky when it comes to ...
