Pros: Great bass sound. Solidly built. Easy to use. Excellent value. Cons: FM reception can be spotty in office buildings
I decided over the holidays to get a small stereo/CD system for my office. I narrowed my selection to three choices: a Bose Wave ($500); Cambridge Soundworks Model 88CD ($229); or a "mini" system with separate speakers ($250 to $350). The Model 88CD...

Pros: Teutonic Build Quality, Accurate Sound, Convenient Features Cons: Radio Reception, Remote
I was searching for a radio to go in my bedroom, I was looking for first of all great sound, an alarm with many functions and something that would last.
So I went first looking (on a recommendation by my friend) at the Bose Wave Radio, so...

Pros: appearance and sound Cons: limited lifetime due to acknowledge problem
I purchased the unit initially for my office. Liked the size, features, and sound. The unit lasted about 18 months then started humming (buzzing) loudly. There was also cross-talk between sources. After a quick response by their technical support and ...

Pros: Value, sound, size Cons: None so far
I bought both the Bose Waveradio/CD and the CS Model 88 with CD and alarm clock. Within a day, the Bose was on its way home. No contest. The Cambridge Soundworks Model 88, at $200 less, is still the superior product. If you don't believe me, just buy...

Pros: Great sound, great controls. Cons: None
I found out about (Soundworks) Kloss-88 while researching the similar bose radio. The kloss cost half as much and IMHO is a better radio. The sound and reception are great. But just as importantly, it is easy to use. With so many electronics products...

Very good, cheaper than Bose
by mfridman ,Dec 31 '04
Pros: Inexpensive compared to Bose. Good sound. Small size. Nice remote. Cons: Bland styling.
This great little radio does everything that the Bose Wave does, for half the price. Comes with a nice credit card sized remote. Good reception, good sound. Analogue inputs in the back, so you can connect a CD player, MP3 player, or use it as you computer sound system.
