Software A Nightmare

by cruiseranne , May 16 '03
Pros: None
Cons: Loading Software
I purchased Nomad II after reading good reviews of the products. The MP3 player may be good -- I'll never know --
but trying to load it was a nightmare. I have XP with a new hard drive, Sony computer. There is no manual included in the kit but a...

Use it in the Car, bus, train...
I've beaten my Nomad and it still works...
I had it repaired once because I used the wrong BIOS upgrade, but Creative fixed it in 3 weeks!

Nomad II MP3 Player: Daughter's Favorite Christmas Gift

by MsHooterville Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 14 '03
Pros: Very portable, great sound, plugs into other media easily, good software.
Cons: 64 MB isn't enough for a teenager, adding memory card is confusing.
Every time we get into the car for even a short trip, my teenage daughter has toted her portable CD player and at least a dozen CDs in a cumbersome case.

One of the main things she begged for at Christmas was an MP3 player -- a gadget neither...

Buy at least another 64mb

by nissan21 , Jul 11 '02
Pros: Good Player for price
Cons: Need to get more memory,
I purchsed my Nomad back in December, and was supprised to see that they are still very close in price to what I paid for mine. I use this MP3 Player every day, and have never had a problem with it.

Realistically the memory that comes with...

I Give It A B+

by jbrukh , May 02 '02
Pros: Cheap, powerful.
Cons: Cheapie.
GENERALLY:

I really really really did my homework on MP3 players before I got this one. This was the only MP3 players that I could find with a 64MB internal memory plus 128MB slot at the time for as little as it cost.

It works...

Not Perfect, but a Good unit

by dprior , Apr 30 '02
Pros: Stylish, Easily Expandable, High Quality Sound, Good Battery Life
Cons: Buttons can be hit mistakenly, headphones stink, creative drivers are notorius
The Nomad II MG comes with 64MB of onboard memory. There is also a SmartMedia memory slot, so you can put those cards in there in order to get more memory. Currently, 128 MB SmartMedia cards are available for around $40 (I suggest www.newegg.com). ...

by chinamonk , Apr 11 '02
Pros: Small, lightweight, can take 128 smartmedia cards, voice recording
Cons: hard-to-open USB port, FM reception is pretty weak, need to get a better case
I searched for almost TWO MONTHS to pick the right mp3 player. I would highly recommend the nomad II. I use it for heavy long distance running, i have a 64 mb smartmedia card and i'll be getting a 128 soon for only 50$. Voice recording is great for...

BETTER THAN CD PLAYERS!!!

by musclewayne , Feb 08 '02
Pros: Durable. Great sound choices. Compact.
Cons: Expensive external memory. And nothing else!!!!
Few years ago, I bought the latest walkmans and then DiscMans - sometimes the cost would go up as high as $400.

Then I moved on to Nomad II 2.5 years ago. When I first bought the NOMAD II (with no internal memory), I paid about $475.

Good mp3 Player

by jeff49829 , Jan 19 '02
Pros: compact size, good features, and easy to use.
Cons: Poor headphones
This is a great product. The added feature of FM is a great plus, something other players don't have. With the price of smart media going down that makes this player an even better value. This player works great with Music Match software which is a...

mp3 player that takes care of business

by ammack19 , Jan 17 '02
Pros: Space that does not fill up quickly
Cons: Not as much space as a few
I was looking for a basic player to take to the rec center, and that's exactly what I got.

Right out of the box I was loading songs with no problem. The software was very intuitive - though I did have to refer to the online manual to figure...

Best MP3 Player

by rivimont , Jan 13 '02
Pros: FM Tuner, Very Small, Cradle, USB connection
Cons: Functioning buttons, included case is pointless
I had the Rio PMP 300 and was looking for a replacement. I didn't have enough memory and it was extremely slow through the serial port.

I compared many mp3 players and it all boiled down to this one. The FM Tuner is extremely useful, when...

Decent, But Needs Improvement

by dlipton2 , Jan 09 '02
Pros: Small, lightweight, includes a radio and a docking station.
Cons: fragile, poorly-manufactured, locks-up on bad MP3's, cheap headphones
I purchased the Nomad II MG about a year ago. The headphones included with the package are cheap and I needed to buy new ones since the amplification was poor.
At first, I enjoyed the Nomad II MG, but over time I noticed problems. The package...
