Pros: The remote, the "guide" feature, true one-touch recording, haven't had a cable-outage in 6 months of use Cons: Not available in all areas
I recently switched cable companies after using the same one (Coaxial/Insight communications) for about 8 years. There was no choice available until recently. Columbus offered only 2 until about 3 years ago, when Americast came to the area. It took a...

Pros: Clear transmission, most times Cons: Took too long to credit your account after payment was made
We got Americast digital cable service while we were in Hawaii, and I have to say that we were pretty pleased with the service. The signal came in pretty clear most of the time, with only a few little "skips" in service from time to time....

Pros: Absolutely None Cons: Terrible Reception, customer representative lies, no customer loyalty
I am an attorney in Bloomington, Indiana, a small Indiana college town 50 miles southwest of Indianapolis. I had perfectly good analog service on my previous cell phone but my friends raved about digital service and its clarity. Because Ameritech is my...

Pros: Lowest cost local service. Cons: Worst service experience EVER!
In March of 2000, I placed an order to establish phone service beginning on May 31, 2000 at our new residence. Unbeknownst to me, the home I was moving into had two lines (one main line and a second line in one room for a computer). As an aside, had I...

Pros: Basically reliable, some decent technicians (the ones they haven't laid off) Cons: slow to set up, steep installation fee, poor service
The year before last, I moved into a new apartment. Unfortunately for me, Ameritech Indiana had just laid off 33% of their technicians. As a result, it took 2 weeks for a service guy to arrive and install the line. During this time, I had to borrow a...

Pros: None! Cons: Expensive, poor service, rude representatives, inaccurate billing
I choose to go with Ameritech phone service when I moved to Madison in May. I called up one of their representatives, and was told about their rates, services, packages, etc. She told me to try one of their complete packages deals for one month, at no...

Pros: Big Company Cons: Clueless Customer Service!
I dont have enough time to go back and list the horrible service I have had with Ameritech.
I have just rented a new apartment and of course, Ameritech was the only phone service. I joined.
The bill came before the service.

Pros: Nice, clear reception when using the cell Cons: Ameritech does not honor it's contracts, you may find yourself paying for calls you thought were free.
My Cellular plan was a flat rate, with free evenings and weekends with Ameritech. Since I already owned a phone, I thought this would be a nice deal. But with my first billing, I was seeing evenings and weekend charges. I called and talked to 16...

Pros: great service and a great product. Cons: price is the same or more that other cable companies.
We ordered Americast a year ago, the instant they were available, because we were so tired of the poor service and high prices of TCI. The service-men were professional, very friendly, and extremely tidy. They guided us through the whole system and made...

Pros: Great Resolution, Superb Audio, Lots of Channels, 99.9% Up Time Cons: None that I have seen in the three years I've had Americast.
In my seven years of buying my own cable, I've subscribed to Media One, Comcast and Americast, which I have in my home now. Of the three, Americast wins hands-down as far as I'm concerned whereas products and service is concerned.
Funny, with...

Pros: Dependable Cons: Poor Selection of Stations
I have to say, I can not recall a time when the cable was out. However, I am in the Chicago area and they do not offer the local cable news network. Plus, they offer far less cable stations than AT&T Cable, but do have better service. Most of the time...
