Pros: Lightweight, quiet, looks nice. Cons: WARM beer, repeatedly jammed faucet, poor parts service.
The Danby DKC645BLS Keg Cooler is a piece of junk. I bought it because all of the advertising said I'd have "ice cold" beer on tap, or "the coldest beer on the block". Instead, the beer is cool at best, and nowhere near "ice cold". I set the temperature ...

Pros: 1)Looks nice
2) Kegerator - how cool is that
3) Cheesy VCR how-to tape Cons: 1)S#!t house materials
2)Pony keg - go for the full size
3) Beer tower drips.
Ok - here is the skinny... I (let alone every buddy I know) was SOOO excited to buy this baby! I did my homework and negotiated with everyone (most helpful was Beverage Factory - cheapest was Walmart.com) and came up with a total shipped price of around ...

Can I get a cold one!
by tjcummings6500 ,Dec 03 '05
Pros: Looks good and easy to assemble Cons: Cannot regulate the temperature down to get the beer cold enough.
The Danby keg cooler looks good but that's about it. We purchased one from SAM's and could not get the temperature to go any lower than 42 degrees inside. To Danby's credit we did have a local technician come out and look at the unit. Too bad it's within spec. The manufacturers spec, not mine. They apparently had problems with previous models icing up, so now they have jacked the temperature up to prevent that from occurring. Warm beer anyone ?

Keg cooler
by maddaddy ,Mar 27 '06
Pros: Looks good, easy to assemble Cons: Warm beer, flat beer,a waste of money
This cooler is nice to look at and has some positive benefits to it,with one very bad exception, will not keep your beer cold.It has a self defrosting cycle that stays on for several hours, allowing your beer to get warm.Than it kicks in,cooling off the beer one more time, than defrosting, you get the picture.
Tech support was pretty bad, want cold beer on tap? Stay away from this one

Danby Kegerator is trash
by wisegeorge ,May 09 '09
Pros: No recycling, no daily trips to the store. Cons: Temp Control is garbage. It should be illegal to sell this trash in the USA.
I've had one since September 07. The beer was never "Ice Cold" but it was o.k. It first started going to hell last July after I took it out on my deck for a party and it gave a reading of LE. Nowhere in any of their literature do they say what LE or EE mean. The temperature control NEVER shows the correct temperature except when you unplug it, wait a minute and plug it back in. Right now my beer is 68 degrees, I feel very European but I have to set the CO2 at two pounds to keep from getting a full glass of foam. The unit, quite frankly is a good old fashioned cheap ash (they censor to the extreme here, but you know what I mean folks) piece of she it!! Laugh in the face of any salesman who tries to talk you into one of these, they are garbage right out of the box. Don't buy it.
