Yes I am another Pepsi addict! I've have been addicted for 25 years plus! (We won't go there!)
I absolutely love that first great charge from in it in the morning. I don't drink coffee so my substitute is Pepsi! I have have to have the leaded varieties Pepsi free or caffeine free are taboo for me! First and foremost I have hot cocoa for breakfast then start sipping right on the good stuff! I call it Pepsi chaser!
For me there is no other soda, but sometimes I will have an unleaded of something just quench some thirsts at the end of the day when I have had my limit!
After all the years I have started cutting for several reasons, first I retain more weight if drink more than one a day! I have limited myself now. Second about 2 years I had an attack of Diverticulitis ( pouches grow in your large intestine and trap seeds or peanuts) A very painful experience to say the least! Third I found that by replacing what I used to drink with some sort of tea I am able to maintain the same energy and keep on going! And last by not least I gained Acid Reflux disease as well!
Now I don't want anyone to think that I blame Pepsi or anything in particular for Diverticulitis or Acid Reflux, but when you drink so much for so long something has to give! I think I still have some friends out there that may have never seen me without a Pepsi stuck in my coat or in my hand! The blame here is on me! Yes Pepsi or soda can be addicting but I still had to drink it didn't I? When I was younger I also drank a bunch of alcohol as well maybe that was the start! Anyway back on track!
Pepsi...I LOVE YOU. There I think I have it out of my system! But as we get older I like to think to think I get smarter so I have cut my Pepsi addiction down to 20 ounces a day! Right after that hot chocolate and sugar fix, then I start sipping over the next 2 to 3 hours! Yes it does get me going and I love the the energy, however I have learned that I can maintain it with tea after that! I love Green tea now and several other versions of sugar and caffeine! Yes some of them are bad too but not as bad! Calories are lower as is the amount of sugar too! No I have not lost great amounts of weight but have lost some but the good news is I am feeling a bit better overall and not gaining weight anymore!
As for the first time drinker, try it you will like it! Refreshing, thirst quenching and has a great bite first thing in the morning! Biggest down fall is that it, if you drink too many it may be hard to sleep and if your stomach is queasy it may add to your discomfort!
Now after all that, you might ask if I will ever give it up? Probably not but I recognize a need to limit the quantity I drink!
