Pros: It's cheaper than Coke.
Cons: It tastes much, much worse than anything you've ever had.

| evansec's Full Review: Schlitz |
Ah, good ol' Schlitz. It even looks American. It's in an almost-striped red and white can and screams, "Schlitz!" right in front of you. Not to mention the fact that the cans boast that it is, indeed, "THE BEER THAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS."
Honestly, I cannot see why.
A friend of mine purchased Schlitz as a joke -- she liked that Milwaukee plug for some odd reason. I should have known there was something wrong when I noticed that a six-pack of the stuff was 75 cents less than a 6'er of Coke. But, hey, I'm always up for something new.
So, we came home, we poured the brews, and we sipped. And it was horrid.
It would be an understatement to describe this beer as "bitter." This beer was so bitter it was offensive. Imagine Budweiser. Now, imagine if it would be possible for Budweiser to spoil in your refrigerator. That's the best way I can describe the taste.
I love a good beer that's smooth all the way through. One way I judge a beer is how cold it is by the time I get to the end of it. I couldn't stand to even get to the bottom of my glass. It was so lacking in substance, flavor and general good taste, I couldn't bear to have any more than half a glass.
Now, if you're of the School Of All That Is Cheap Beer, Schlitz would, most likely, be perfect for you. However, there are some of us who prefer a bit more quality in a good beer.
