I'm on the NIGHT TRAIN by mattjoe | Feb 09 '00 NIGHT TRAIN is my most memorable wine. And not for good reason either.
One day while still a law student I was at the local liquor store with my girlfriend when what did I see sitting in the cooler? A big bottle of NIGHT TRAIN. I had to have it....Return to opinion

Very well written in a hilarious style. Thanks.
BTW, if you'd like to try something that I suspect might make the Night Train look as if it were running out of steam, try the German-made brew EKU-38. It's a barley wine. I guess I could see how some people might like the flavor, but it's not really my favorite. But I will tell you that if you drink one 12-oz. bottle of this stuff, you'll be *hammered*.

This story is so funny and it brings back similar memories of my college drinking experiences. Three of us needed a drink badly (as college sophomores often do) but didn't have much money. The 7-11 clerk told us that if we would get an affordable wine called Red Dagger and mix an envelope of grape KoolAid into it, we would "have oursleves a drink." Knowing very little about this sort of thing, no red flags went up for us at this point. I can't imagine how much more vile this stuff would have been if we hadn't had the grape flavoring to take some of the bite away. Incidentally, Dagger was a very appropriate name for this "wine."

I will sadly admit to having drunk night train.
and mad dog 20 20
and the box of wine
i should stick to the vintages, namely the finest vintage of all- Boones farm.
T-bird, never tried it, cant find it out here. I will try it for the sake of trying it, if i ever find it. I will also try Hurricane if i can find it.
perhaps i didnt learn after all.

Not many people will admit to having drunk Night Train, this was a great story, and a great cautionary tale. Stick to the vintages!

P.S. Ever try Thunderbird (shudder, shudder)? An equally evil experience,Ii assure you!
