"The Beer Machine" - great beer in 7-10 daysFeb 25 '00 Write an essay on this topic. The beer machine made by the Great American Brewing Company as seen on tv is one great machine for the novice beer brewer. I just purchased the machine a few months ago, and already have had great results. This is by far the easiest brew kit on the market. The beer machine resembles a keg with a tap on it. It is 2.6 gallons and claims to make 28 beers, however it usually ends up to be about 22-23. The reason that i love it though is its simplicity. All you have to do is fill the unit with water to the fill line, pour in a beer mix sold by the company and add yeast. Screw on the cap and wait 7-10 days and you have beer!! Now here's the best part. Since the unit has a tap on it, all you have to do is throw the whole thing in your refrigerator and you have your own homemade beer on tap. If you actually want to save some of your beer, or stockpile it for a national disaster, there is a bottling adapter that comes with it to made the job easier. Now here's where the real value comes in, the whole reason most of you want to brew your own beer ... price. There are many different beer kits available at www.thebeermachine.com and they are quite reasonable. For 20-30 dollars you can buy kits to brew any type of beer you want. The kit includes enough ingredients to make 3 batches plus yeast. That breaks down to 7-10 dollars for about 1 case of homemade, great tasting, preservative free beer! The only down side to this system is the price of the unit itself. On the web site the machine sells for around 80 dollars. This is a bit high, but as I said you are paying for the ease of use of the unit. Other brew kits involve multiple steps and require bottling, not having the keg feature of the beer machine. I didn't want to spend 80 bucks so I picked up my beer machine at on online auction for 40 dollars. After using it though for a while I would definately say that if you are interested in getting into brewing, shell out the 80 bucks and have some fun. The beer machine produces great tasting, homebrewed beer in 7-10 days and I highly recommend it to anyone, of legal age that is haha. |
